Forklift Lithium Batteries

New Journey's forklift battery selection is intended for truck-specific comparison. Start with the forklift model, battery compartment and the manufacturer's electrical and mass requirements. The relevant product specification then provides the basis for reviewing the pack, charger and operating schedule together.

A battery-bay comparison: 24V 160Ah

The 24V 160Ah forklift listing specifies 25.6V nominal, a 623 × 209 × 626mm enclosure and a 90kg mass. These values apply to that model. A truck that requires a different battery weight or retention arrangement needs a separate installation assessment.

Build the charging plan around the shift

Provide shift length, load pattern and available charging windows. Compare these with the pack's permitted charge and discharge limits and the available charger power. Confirm interlocks and communication before placing a sample into service.

Frequently asked questions

What must be checked when replacing a forklift lead-acid battery?

Review the truck model, battery voltage window, compartment, required battery mass, connector and operating shift. Check the charger, controller and any interlocks or communication. Obtain the truck supplier's acceptance of the replacement arrangement, including counterweight requirements.

Can a forklift battery be charged during work breaks?

Review the permitted charge current, battery temperature and charger connection procedure for that model. Break-time charging also depends on available charger power and the shift's energy use. It should be included in the agreed operating plan rather than assumed for every pack.
