Battery Cells for Pack Integration

This group brings together six cell models with ratings from 1100mAh to 67Ah and nominal voltages of 3.6V, 3.7V or 3.8V. They address different design requirements. The capacity range is a catalogue description, not evidence that the cells are interchangeable or use the same charging limits.

Capacity acceptance values depend on the cell model

JSN8890190 is listed as 33Ah nominal with a 32Ah minimum at 0.1C and 25 ± 2°C. JSN9590190 is listed as 40Ah nominal with a 39Ah minimum at 0.2C and 25 ± 2°C. The different test rates belong with the figures; they are not results from an identical test.

Evaluate the finished assembly separately

Pack mass includes cells, interconnections, protection electronics, insulation and enclosure parts. Keep the exact cell model and specification revision in the bill of materials. Use assembly-level measurements for finished-pack mass and performance.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between nominal and minimum cell capacity?

The two figures serve different purposes. For example, JSN8890190 is listed as 33Ah nominal with a 32Ah minimum at 0.1C and 25 ± 2°C. JSN9590190 is listed as 40Ah nominal with a 39Ah minimum at 0.2C and 25 ± 2°C. Keep the model and test conditions with the minimum value when writing the acceptance specification.

Can cell energy density be used as the energy density of a complete pack?

No. Interconnections, electronics, insulation and the enclosure add weight and volume. Calculate pack-level energy density from the finished pack's specified energy and measured mass or volume. Use the same test basis when comparing cell options.
